Streamscapes- from the Spree to the Sea. A cartographic Experiment. (2017)
University Competition prizewinner in German Science Year 2016*17 Seas and Oceans (funded by BMBF & Wissenschaft im Dialog). TU Berlin students investigated the waterways from Berlin to the North Sea as urban infrastructure, an ecological spine and as a cultural connection to the sea. The project has three parts: a regional cartographic analysis according to dominant themes, fishing for stories on tour- a 1:1 dialogue with citizens in 3 chosen towns and the synthesis map of these two results. Streamscapes was led by Guest Researcher Nancy Couling and Paola Alfaro d’Alençon, Urban Research & Design Laboratory, TU Berlin- a teaching reform project in the Design & Planning disciplines.
