Experience in giving guest lectures on marine spatial planning and offshore renewable energy for the DIS programme in Copenhagen, for the module 'Biodiversity and Renewable Energy' as part of the course 'Biological Conservation and Biodiversity'
Also gave a guest lecture in 2019 for the EIA course given at SAMS in Oban, with a focus on the Rochdale Envelope approach and its relevance to the siting of offshore renewable energy developments
My PhD investigated the siting of offshore renewable energy and how existing users of the marine space are taken into account during this process, such as the fishing industry. At the strategic level I'm interested in how spatial multi-criteria decision analysis techniques can be used to represent local spatial patterns at a national level and at individual project level I'm analysing how fisheries data is used to take into account fisheries activities during the siting and impact assessment of offshore energy developments.
