Gunnar Finke

Education & career

Mr Gunnar Finke, a German national, is currently based in Namibia as advisor for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ). He provides technical and policy advice to Angola, Namibia and South Africa as Parties to the Benguela Current Convention (BCC) in implementing MSP. Prior to this assignment, Gunnar Finke worked for the Blue Solutions Initiative, a global cooperation project to collate, share and generate knowledge and capacity for sustainable marine ecosystem management. He also advised the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on marine biodiversity. Gunnar Finke is a member of IUCN’s World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).
