Catarina Frazão Santos
Catarina Frazão Santos is an Invited Auxiliary Researcher and Lecturer at FCUL and MARE, and an Invited Researcher at NOVA-SBE (Environmental Economics Knowledge Center), Portugal. With a PhD on ocean policy and planning, her work focuses on the links among marine spatial planning (MSP), sustainable ocean governance, and human impacts in the ocean. She works in the borderline between natural and social sciences, being deeply engaged in developing interdisciplinary research to support ocean sustainability. She is currently leading a R&D project with a team of renowned international experts on the nexus among MSP, climate change and ocean sustainability (www.oceanplan-project.com), and has been invited to participate as speaker/lecturer in several international events on the topic, including by UNESCO and the European Commission.
